Chez releases emotionally penned E.P: ‘Could’ve Been’ | New Music

Chez’s talent is infectious and clear to see. Not only does she pen down some incredible tunes, but she’s also a resident DJ on Krush FM’s Pirate Sessions. This showcases the strength of her musical palette which can also be found in her music. Hailing from Cheltenham, the singer-songwriter is building her name locally with an infamous live show.

Her latest offering comes in the form of emotionally penned E.P ‘Could’ve Been.’ The E.P features warm synths that cut through the mix, and work hand in glove her silky smooth vocals that have tinges of emotionally and rawness. The drums are irresistible and provide the perfect foundation for melodies to dance on top of. When all these elements merge together the groove that is created is captivating and signature to her. However, the EP does have a more vulnerable side, and this is showcased in title track ‘Could’ve Been.’ Whilst the track only consists of a guitar and vocals, this allows her to showcase her songwriting ability in all it’s glory.

Speaking further she says: “I wrote my EP about real life experiences from myself and experiences I’ve seen others go through. My songs always convey a message and are a true channel of my emotions. I recorded all vocals in the EP with my producer Toby, in January this year. It took us a whole Saturday, but we completed all 3 tracks. It’s mad that the tracks are now being released into the world, it’s been a long time in the works.”

With such a defined sound and a clear direction, it’s worth betting on that Chez will get to the top, and with her secret recipe of infectious R&B, she’s certainly going to get people up and dancing along the way.
