Brenda Cay’s new video for her song, ‘X & Y’, is a fun retrospective about past relationships and wondering why we ever went there.

Country singer/songwriter and Nashville recording artist, Brenda Cay, releases an entertaining new video.

“We all have these relationships that we get into thinking we’ve found the perfect person. Sometimes they end quickly and other times they drag on, but when they end we look back and realize the ex was just another frog,” says Brenda. This song tells that story and her new video plays it out in a small town where there are eyes everywhere. Brenda laughs, “My favorite part of the video is sitting in the car with a pair of binoculars stalking my ex over the lyrics, ‘Home alone thinking ‘bout who was on his mind.’”

Brenda focuses on country music and her songs are crafted with subtle hints of pop, rock, and R&B which reflect influences from artists Kenny Chesney, Terri Clark, and Sara Evans. She states, “Sometimes there’s something deep in my heart that I need to share and other times there’s a shot of whiskey begging me to tell its story with a fun melody.” Escaping the stresses of daily life and having fun are common themes, but she is unafraid to tackle more serious topics. Her songs are relatable, diverse and she weaves them like a true country music storyteller.

Brenda’s songs have received 14 licensing deals, been streamed over 5 million times, and have been featured on Apple Hot Tracks – Country and the ACM: New Music Friday playlist.
