Hi Sabrina! We hope you are doing well. Tell us about your new single, “Head Over Heels!” What inspired this project?
Hi! Thank you so much. I really wanted to write about vulnerability and walls coming down in the process of falling in love.
Are there any behind the scenes of the writing process for the single you can fill us in on?
Marie-Claire and I wrote the song in two separate sessions in Nashville. I really wanted to play with the idea of red bottoms face up so we went for it. We actually wrote it slightly more R&B/pop and I made some changes with my producer to fit my personal style before recording and releasing.
We love the idea of the lyric “red bottoms face up” and know that you are a model! What are some of your favorite brands to wear/style?
Thank you! I love trying different designers and different brands. Some of my pieces I will wear performing are from Revolve. Sometimes I like to splurge but I love a good deal so I will search online to find different spots with good quality and deals. I also have been no stranger to Marshalls through the years!
Tell us more about your Miss Music City 2023 career path and your competing in Miss TN!
Truly my dream is to be successful in entertainment and be able to use my platform and resources to do nonprofit work. The pageant realm is very supportive of that and I am so excited to be competing this year.
What is in the works for you next?
My next single ‘Rodeo Heart’ will be released April 7th!
Who are some of your favorite artists right now? Who would you want to collaborate with?
There are so many! Being able to be in a writing session with Liz Rose, Taylor Swift or Bebe Rexha would be amazing.
Over the course of the song, Sabrina Ponte’s performance provides the audience with a familiar experience made new within the song. Her harmonious voice and lyrical prowess provide the song with a revitalized energy, as well as providing a deeper meaning to the song itself. Lyrics, such as ‘Now I am exposed, and you’ve got control/You’re under my clothes, boy you already know,’ help showcase how far she has fallen for this person. The song revolves around the development of a crush, and the progression of a developing attraction towards an individual.
Sabrina Ponte is an artist who wears her heart on her sleeve. Being heavily involved within her church choir as a child helped her to develop her passions and freedom towards creating her own music. Outside of music, Ponte is currently competing in the Miss America program for Miss Tennessee, as well as fundraising for the Children’s Miracle Network and other charity organizations, among many other feats. Ponte seeks to use music in order to help promote change within the world, and uses it as a way to give back to her community.
