Luxury Goods releases vibrant and bold E.P ‘This Is No Time to Dance’ | New Music

Luxury Goods are set to take listeners on a journey throughout their new E.P ‘This Is No Time to Dance.’ The Sheffield-based outfit has received a warm welcome after releasing singles “Tiny Moving Parts” and “Again.” Dramatic, irresistible and a mesh of different inspirations, it’s clear to see that Luxury Goods have crafted their own unique sound.

‘PM’ is a signature sounding Luxury Goods track and provides a vulnerable moment whilst having an infectious exterior. Groovy drums are spacious but impactful whilst chorus soaked guitars lie in between, providing a canvas that’s perfect for Leonie’s well-penned vocal tone. Whereas, closing the E.P is track ‘Suffocated.’ ‘Suffocated’ features heavenly vocals that layer on top of each other creating maximum impact. These vocals also have a rhythmic element that, when combined with the drums, create a groove that will entice you in, even though the track is tinged with melancholy.

The E.P is a proud collection of work for Luxury Goods, as Leonie explains: “This release has been a long time coming. We recorded the first track for the EP in 2019, before we were even called Luxury Goods. Since then, the journey has taken many twists and turns as we assembled an amazing team of creatives from around the country. 3 lockdowns, far too many sugar mice and a band baby later (no mum, not mine), we’re really proud of what we’ve achieved with ‘This is No Time to Dance’.

The record is built around themes that are close to my heart, like being a woman, periods, self-doubt, finding confidence in the darkest of places, relationships with others and -most importantly- with myself.

I’m really excited to share this collection of songs with the world and believe it will be the first stepping stone to bigger things.”

Having played with high-profile acts such as Martha Hill, Orchards, Self Esteem, Skinny Pelembe, Our Girl, While She Sleeps and Zuzu, and being championed by BBC Radio 6, BBC Introducing, the BBC Introducing Hot List and Amazing Radio, as well as playing Tramlines (Main Stage), Liverpool Sound City, ESNS, Long Division and Y Not Festivals, it’s clear to see praise is in abundance. However, the biggest praise of all for Luxury Goods is being chosen as one of the best emerging artists of 2020 by Glastonbury Festival.
