Here the seasoned selector picks 10 records that he says are “QUITE POSSIBLE 10 OF THE BEST DISCO TRACKS OF ALL TIME…”

Freddy Love’s 10 Festival Disco Anthems!

Donna Summer – I feel Love (Patrick Cowley Mix)

There are so many versions of this classic but this version and megamix by Patrick Cowley is the one and only one, 16 minutes sexy, trippy disco. The best ever made. I love everything about it, this is Acid House before house music

Cerorne –  Supernature

As a French teenager, I love everything about Ceronne. This musical universe was huge in France and then after worldwide. Super well produced. An absolute space Disco beauty. And not forgetting the vocal. Deep, sexy, and erotic.

Sylvester – Over and Over

This is of course a Paradise garage Larry Levan classic, with such an amazing groove and vibe. These are records to play time and time again. Disco Gospel in a sense. And what a bassline!

Prince – Controversy

I’m a BIG Prince fan since the late 70s, when I first started to play as a Dj. These kinds of records blew me away instantly. I can clearly remember the reaction on a dance floor first time I played it.

Chic – I Want your Love (Todd Terje Edit)

I should put the original really but I reckon this edit is even better on production. The lyrics, the strings. Nile Rodgers at his very best. Still a firm favorite in my box.

The Main Ingredient – Happiness is Just Around the Bend

This soulful disco track is almost a great record to sing a long to while putting hands in the air and smiling. I sincerely love it. Also the Greg Wilson edit!

Gino Soccio – Dancer

For me this is the best of Italo Disco. It is one of my favorite ever Disco tracks that’s ever been made! I remember when I was a teenager and I hear it at a fun fair. There’s a long version too which is just ace.

An amazing vocal and sublime production. Pure space disco once again.

Eddy Grant – Timewarp

A bit more of an obscure track and the most surprising production from the first band of Eddy Grant. I actually still play this in some of my sets. This is at the forefront of electronic disco. Everyone can feel this!

Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes –  Don’t Leave Me This Way.

I am huge fan of all Philadelphia International records from that label. Pure perfection when they mix between Soul & Disco. It’s all about love and deefinitley and end of the night tine for al the good disco dancefloors.

Dinosaur L – Go Bang

This record has got everything I like on this era. Disco, space Disco, jazz funk and it was at the beginning of Chicago House movement. This was a big bang for me when I heard it.
