Interview: LÀCCA Comment Releases in Nova Music Group and 2023 Challenges | Featured

The music producer DJ conquered millions of listeners during the pandemic and now talks to Music Crowns about his 2022 releases and the new challenges of maintaining the audience in an industry that is still in recovery.

Hi there my beloved Musc Crown’s readers, as you know, we are here to bring interesting artists to you and this time is no different. Let’s check how 2022 was to LÀCCA and what’s coming ahead!

2022 started as a blast to LÀCCA who was invited by GTA’s game producers to join the official soundtrack with a remix of Olg Kvasha’s “Green Eyes Taxi”, a huge success in the game.

Later in 2022, LÀCCA played in the biggest electronic music events of Rio de Janeiro’s carnival. During the year the artist reached 2.5 million streams on Youtube and Twitch and the LÀCCA‘s music and energy drew attention inside and outside Brazil. This was the case with the American record label Vex Distro and Nova Music Group. Both released tracks from the artist in 2022.

To find out more about this triumphant and explosive career, Nazen Carneiro invited LÀCCA for an interview, published exclusively on Music Crowns! But first, let’s listen!

Music Crowns: What was it like to play for ten thousand people at Rio de Janeiro’s Carnival?

It was incredible! What was really nice to me was to deliver an almost 100% authorial DJ set with new and unreleased songs with a fantastic response from the public.

Music Crowns: Looking back what has changed the most in LÀCCA from a year ago?

Definitely a musical maturation. Today, those who know me already know what my sound is and what to expect from my set.

Music Crowns: This is due to you establishing your sound identity. How would you define your musical style in your own words?

Techno. Not that straight and squared techno. My techno is full of grooves mixing trippy vocals that make the audience adhere to the strong techno beats and the house melody.

Music Crowns: When it comes to other artists, who do you listen to?

nrico SAN Giuliano, Carbon, Alex Stein, Charlotte de Witte, Victor Ruiz and Zac, to name a few. A mix of these artists. I learn a lot watching Charlotte play. I like her style of mixing and building the set. Another one who always teaches long-set classes is Zac.

Music Crowns: You have played in the metaverse before David Guetta, having a special digital version  of yourself created especially to play ‘inside’ the worldwide famous game GTA, as we have shown here Please comment.

It was fascinating to take part in this. I’m in love with everything that’s about technology and to play in the metaverse was quite an experience! It was live so I was playing in my studio and as people could see me I could see them and we were all together in the digital world.

I have also played in the metaverse with DJ REDFOX my new project called Arlequiina & Joker and you can see it here.

Music Crowns: So cool! Please share upcoming news!

There releases coming in record labels from Brazil, United States and Europe. Of course Psycho Lives will continue and we’ll have guests for small talks.

We have started the summers season for street parties last Friday, January 27th with an event called @freezonedjs. Next one is set to February 17th, during Carninval when millions of people are partying everywhere in the city.

Music Crowns: You rocked Psycho Lives during the pandemic. Comment on this story and the challenge of keeping the audience kind.

I believe the challenge is to always be relevant. I have a powerful bond with this show, after all, in addition to having contributed to projecting myself into the scene in Brazil and abroad, Psycho Lives gave rise to the name of my first track, released by SoTrackBoa Records, Psycho Psycho. The track was released a year after closing with the label, all because of the pandemic and my sound had completely changed (laughs).

I think that all my musical maturation came largely because of the existence of the show and the possibility of playing a lot and testing many, many tracks. See that on Twitch alone, since July 2020, there are almost 1000 hours of transmission. You can be sure that “off the air” I played triple that.

Music Crowns: Taking into account your last release Submarino 1.1, can you say that this is LÀCCA‘s sonic identity?

You could say it’s one of my facets. I’m always looking for new beats, new sounds, and new rhythms. I enjoy playing between 126 and 132 bpm, mainly because what I like the most is doing a long set, which allows you to travel between different styles within techno.

Music Crowns: Leave a message for the people who enjoy your sound and follow your work.

I am LÀCCA and with you and for you, I transform lives through music, thank you for everything! I just have to thank you for everything the public has done, without them none of this would make sense.
