Taylor D is a new Irish artist from the capital, Dublin. She has been writing songs since the age of thirteen. Now, four years on she releases her twelfth song, which is a feat in and of itself (and then you realise she’s only seventeen!). This is indicative of an artist who is going places.
The contemporary singer-songwriter came up with the idea for the title track of her upcoming EP ‘Fan Girl’ (due in September) when at a concert. She noticed the way girls her age were acting – in hysteria. The upbeat track brings us on a story through the eyes of a ‘Fan Girl’ using catchy melodies and lyrical hooks.
When asked about the song, Taylor D says:
“Fan Girl was inspired by going to concerts. I was at a Vamps Concert at Christmas and looked around and saw masses of screaming hysterical girls up in front of the stage and thought how a pop/rock star can be the highlight or obsession of these girl’s lives and to that star they are just a face in the crowd”
